Who qualifies for Affordable Housing?
Each local authority has specific criteria, however the general requirements are as follows:
- You must be a first time buyer i.e. you do not or have not owned a property already
- You must have been in full-time employment for at least 1 year
- If you are a Sole Applicant, you must have earned less than c.€50,000 during the previous tax year
- If you are Joint Applicants, you must have earned less than c.€75,000 together in total during the previous tax year
- Income of no less than €30,000 for a single applicant and no less than €45,000 for a joint application
- 100% finance available where the purchase price of the property is 80% or less than the current market value
